MP Editor Over SSH (PuTTY)

Hello,

I discovered MP editor last week after repeated searches to find a Linux
editor that can run "decently" over PuTTY. I have tried using emacs and
others and found their user interface less than friendly. I like MP but have
some issues with terminal emulation settings.

1. If running in mouse mode, what should be the PuTTY's keyboard
setting-ESC[n~, Linux, or Xterm R6? It seems to work best with Xterm R6
setting but even in this setting "Home" and "End" keys don't move cursor,
they insert some strange characters.

2. Mouse clicks work sometimes but at other times they insert strange
characters.

My server is CentOS 4.3 and I am using 3.x stable release of MP with client
being Windows XP. MP is built with ncurses. It is entirely possible that MP
isn't built correctly. Is there a RPM available for MP (preferably of 4.99.x
release) with curses? (The link on the homepage for Redhat rpm doesn't
work.)

Thanks in advance,

Vinay Agarwal
